"Teddy" was the mount of Maj. Michael J. Jackson (BEAT IT!) of the 62nd FS, 56th FG, February 1945, Boxted. Jackson had eight air victories plus 7 (following some sources) ground kills. At this stage of war, the Luftwaffe strengh was declining and some Fighter Sweeps almost always ended "downing in the deck" giving the pilots a chance to rose their ground kills. The P-47M was the fastest wartime American plane with 460MPH! Early engine troubles reduced their serviciability to zero, grounded all the planes for at least 20 days until Republic, Prat-Whitney and ground crew solved the problem. Designed to catch the V-1s, the plane reach the 56th FG in the first days of 1945, but the V-1 attacks ended at September 1944. The aircrafts were delivery in natural metal but after some very warm discussions, the command decided to paint each 56thFG's squadrons in a wild color schemes: 61st FS in Insignia-blue (yes, it was not black!), 62nd FS in RAF disruptive scheme of dark green and sky(?) gray and the 63rd FS in a striking two blues tones, a mediterranean blue and azurre blue. All the planes sported the group's distinctive red noses and colored rudders - red for the 61st FS, yellow for the 62nd FS and medium blue for the 63rd FS as well as a large overwing star and bars. There goes the list of people envolved in this High Resolution model: - Model by John "Chompy" Masters with some help of Winger69 and Serb. - Skin by me using the Chompy's original dark green skin. - New updated 3dz by me as well as the new gunsights, new paddle-blade prop and new cockpit. Sorry if I forgot someone else! To install drop all the .3dz and .tpc files to your EAW directory overwriting the old files. I strongly recommend to use only the .3dz files given here or something weird can happens with your skin. I must say that I've been inspired by Serb and Major Lee while skinning this beauty! Thanks for that dudes! Hope you like it!!! Claudio Wilches - cwrio@globo.com
